Why is the scheme limited to Service personnel with between 4 and 6 years Service?

The Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme is a pilot scheme to test a specific approach to increasing home ownership options for Service personnel. The scheme has been designed by the Ministry of Defence, and the 4-6 years Service criteria for eligibility was chosen by the MoD after careful consultation with the three Services. It was identified as a key retention period, and will also help to target those on lower incomes.

The start date used is ‘The date an individual commences Regular Service in the Armed Forces'
